Idaho Regional Ballet (IRB) is Eagle Performing Art Center’s (EPAC) pre-professional non-profit organization for young dancers. IRB holds firm to its mission of promoting the art of dance and providing excellence in dance training its company members.
Idaho Regional Ballet also gives our dancers the opportunity to work with invited guest choreographers, teachers and perform alongside professional guest artists. IRB’s guest artists include professional dancers from Pacific Northwest Ballet and New York City Ballet.
Supporting Idaho Regional Ballet means you’re helping support the Treasure Valley’s local performing arts community.
“The amount of time, dedication and love our dancers put into being a member of IRB sets them up to be successful in life and in all that they want to do,” said EPAC Director, Elizabeth (Liz) Keller.
IRB company-members' ages range from 12 to 18 years old. Students are offered the opportunity to perform in professional quality productions. Many IRB alumni have gone on to dance professionally and receive scholarships to well-known university programs.
Anticipated Yearly Performances In New Black Box Theatre
IRB is responsible for one the Treasure Valley’s most anticipated ballets, The Nutcracker. A classic story of a young girl, Clara and her fantasy of befriending a life-size nutcracker whose mission is to defeat the evil mouse king. (Cue the sugar plum fairies, mouse soldiers, Russian dancers, snowflakes, and lots of dancing!)
Thousands of residents anticipate going to The Nutcracker as a family tradition. This year’s Nutcracker performance will be limited to Act II and showcased at EPAC’s new Blackbox Box Theatre. Performances will take place at EPAC with extra social distancing precautions in place.
IRB also performs several other shows throughout the year. Due to COVID-19, productions may be limited.
