Being the biggest park in Boise, it would be a shame not to put Ann Morrison park on the list for Totally Boise’s Park pick of the week. A whopping 153-acres along the Boise Greenbelt, Ann Morrison is packed with outdoor activities to choose from.
Games
While going to Ann Morrison there is one thing that the park isn’t short of, game options. Amenities at the park include: a disc golf course, bocce ball, a cricket field, horseshoe pits, tennis courts, a softball field, volleyball courts, an outdoor gym and playgrounds. While some of these amenities may be closed due to COVID-19, others may need to be reserved.
Off Leash Dog Park
Having only six off-leash dog parks around Boise, Ann Morrison’s is one of the newer additions to the park. Known as Treasure Valley Dog Island, the park opened in July of 2019. The off-leash dog park has 5.4-acres of play room for pets and caters to many types of dogs. In addition to the spacious park, there are two swim areas and a “shy dog” area for dogs who prefer their privacy. Although this is a designated spot for dogs, the park also has off-leash areas throughout the park.
Picnics
Not only does Ann Morrison have room to lay a blanket down and have a picnic, but there are picnic tables throughout the park. A personal favorite spot to have lunch or morning coffee is next to the water fountain or next to the clock tower. If looking for a small group outing, covered areas are available for reservations.
River Access
Floating the river may end at Ann Morrison, but it leaves room for more activities after floating. Near the floating exit is Madres Mexican restaurant, The Shed, Lost Grove Brewing and Payette Brewing.
