Spookily Fun Halloween Events in Boise

And this year’s best Halloween costume award goes to 2020. As Halloween quickly approaches this year, many aren’t sure what is still safe and fun to do. The good thing is the Treasure Valley businesses have prepared for a bunch of festive events that allow you to have a good time with friends and family while remaining socially distanced and careful. Totally Boise put together a list of fun Halloween events for this year, all of which can be enjoyed safely.

Treasure Valley Kid-Friendly Halloween Events

All Week Long

Annual Downtown Boise Pumpkin Hunt

Boise Art Glass is hosting a week long pumpkin hunt! Clues will be posted daily at 1 p.m. leading you to a hidden pumpkin downtown.

Where: Downtown Boise

When: 1 p.m. - 3 p.m. daily

Friday, October 30th

Halloween Family Fun Monster Bash

Taking social distance measures, the Halloween costume bash will host two separate times to play games, make crafts, and enjoy treats.

Where: Children’s Museum of Idaho

When: 4 p.m.-6 p.m. & 6 p.m.-8 p.m.

DriveThru Trick-or-Treat | Hocus Pocus Movie Night

The Riverside Hotel is hosting not one, but two events! Encouraging visitors to dress in costume and decorate their cars for socially distance trick-or-treating fun! There will also be two showings of a Halloween classic — Hocus Pocus.

Where: The Riverside Hotel

When: The DriveThru Trick-or-Treat will be from 6 p.m.- 7:30 p.m. Showings for Hocus Pocus are 6 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.

Tunnel of Terror Benefiting Idaho Humane Society

Bluebird Express is presenting a Halloween-themed car wash, the “Tunnel of Terror” where all proceeds will be donated to the Idaho Humane Society. Customers can expect to enjoy a fright, with kid-friendly scares as well!

When: 10/30 and 10/31, 6 p.m. - 9 p.m.

Saturday, October 31st

Raising Spirits Halloween Blast!

Throw on your costumes and get in the spirit at the Idaho State Museum. Activities will be for the entire family, including a Halloween-themed scavenger hunt through the Museum, treats available inside and outside (weather permitting), “spooky” history stories told by Museum educators in costume, and more!

Boise Bench Haunted Zombie Toyland

Constructed by local family owners, the Pence-Brown children definitely know how to get into the holiday spirit. Located in the backyard are over 180 creepy dolls. A PG event for all ages — but definitely spooky.

Candy in the Corn

Have fun on the last day of the season at Lowe Family Farmstead. Celebrating in true Halloween form — trick-or-treating for all ages!

Trunk or Treat

Stop by the family fun, all-ages event hosted in Jump Time Meridian’s parking lot. Encouraging to maintain social distancing guidelines the event is a great way to celebrate Halloween while staying outside. Grab all the candy and spend time with you friends and family at Jump Time.

When: 1 p.m. - 3 p.m.

Howloween Costume Contest

Whether you decide to wear coordinate matching costumes or not is up to you, Western Collective is hosting its second annual Howloween Costume Contest. Bring your dogs, kiddos, drink some beer, and partake in the Halloween spirit. Saturday morning pumpkin decorating, coffee, and donut holes will continue!

When: The party kicks off at 10 a.m. with the contest starting at 12 p.m.

All Week Long

Halloween Week at the Boo-ery!

All week long Lost Grove Brewing is celebrating Halloween with daily events, discounts and giveaways. Some of the events include pumpkin carving party, guess the pumpkin lbs, trivia costume contest, and live music.

When: All week long, 12 p.m. - 10 p.m.

Friday, October 30th

Flow and Glow Black Light Yoga

Authentic Yoga Studio is making a spooktacular event of their Friday night yoga class. Dress in costume, neon, or white and join in for their 7 p.m. class followed by snacks and beverages.

Cell Block Stroll

Take a casual spooky stroll through Idaho’s Old Penitentiary. Linger through cells that once belonged to some of Idaho’s notorious felons and embrace the spirit of Halloween. This event will be hosted on October 30th and 31st, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. (last admission at 9 p.m.) and will have food trucks on site.

Ste. Chapelle Winery Halloween Bash

Rock and Roll at Ste. Chapelle Winery with custom drink specials and spooky drinks. Come ready to impress in your best halloween costume and you’ll be entered to win the raffle! RSVP is required, so reserve your tickets ahead of time.

Saturday, October 31st

Halloween Costume Contest | Barbarian Brewing

Dress to impress, drink beer, and win some sweet Barbarian merchandise while you’re at it. Held at the downtown taproom, Barbarian Brewing will be hosting a costume contest from 9 p.m.- 10 p.m.

Beer Candy Pairing | Boise Brewing

Adult Trick-or-Treating at its finest. The perfect start to a Saturday — Boise Brewing will be offering beer flights paired with candy from 1 p.m. - 8 p.m.
