In-N-Out Opening

The long-awaited moment has arrived! In-N-Out Burger, a name that evokes instant cravings, has finally opened its doors in Boise. This Californian legend is known for its fresh, made-to-order burgers and iconic animal style fries. The Ada County Highway District prepared its team for the opening — and the inevitable crush of traffic, changing the timing of traffic lights and warning Idahoans to expect congestion in the area.

Historic Holiday Display Illuminates Community

As the festive season approaches, Kuna, 18 miles southwest of Boise's downtown, has come alive with a dazzling holiday display. Eriks Garsvo has collected decorations with historical significance for several years. Eriks says all the work he puts into his Christmas display is well worth it. "It brings joy. It's fun. I enjoy getting out there, decorating, seeing it, and it's fun to watch the traffic jam I create in my subdivision."

New Furniture Store in Downtown Boise

Scenic. The Storied Home, by three local interior designers, is now open at 1420 W. Grove Street — next to Big City Coffee and the Linen Building in downtown Boise. At the new store, customers will find upholstered furniture as well as dining tables, nightstands, dressers, and side tables — which are all primarily made at small workrooms and companies across the country. Nestled among the city's iconic buildings, this store brings a fresh perspective on interior design and layers of styles, like modern, timeless, vintage, and transitional furniture.

Boise PD K9 Retirement

After five years of dedicated service, this four-legged officer, Fargo, is set for retirement. The German Shepherd, Belgian Malinois mix, patrolled the city four days a week with his handler and is trained in apprehension and narcotics. Just last year, Fargo helped apprehend a bank robbery suspect who tried to stab him. Fargo was not injured, and the suspect was recently sentenced for his crimes.

Candy Cane Lane in Eagle

In Eagle, only a short drive from Boise, a family's home, affectionately known as Candy Cane Lane, captures the holiday spirit with its extravagant display of lights. This household has maintained a 30-year tradition of elaborate holiday decorating, enhancing their collection annually. The meticulous setup process begins in the last week of September and concludes by Thanksgiving. Visitors can enjoy the dazzling lights every evening from 5:30 pm to 11 pm until December 31st. The family has also created a website to showcase their decorating journey over the years, inviting the community to share in their festive cheer.
