Just 45 minutes from downtown, you can be on the slopes, shredding as hard as your heart desires. To mark the anniversary of their 80th year, you can expect fun and good times all season long.
So what’s to come? We’ve got all the details on their upcoming anniversary party, live music Saturdays, and unbeatable season pass prices for the next season.
80 Years of Non-Profit Goodness, Let’s Celebrate!
Bogus Basin Mountain Recreation Area first opened its lifts in the winter of 1942. The Treasure Valley saw drizzle and fog that winter, but the snow was falling in the mountains. Now 80 years later, the trails carved out by the pioneers of Bogus have transformed into hundreds of miles of fun!
To mark the occasion of its 80th year in operation, the non-profit recreation is throwing a party! Mark your calendars for December 20th, the official birthday of the popular snowy destination.
Bogus Basin's High Peak Hangout
Let us know what is better than a day on the slopes followed by an evening of DJ sets, mountain views, and cold beer in the most vibey lounge in Idaho? We'll wait.
The High Peak Hangout is Bogus Basin’s newly designed gathering space, located on the third floor of the Pioneer Lodge. The Treasure Valley’s local ski resport recently signed a multi-year sponsorship agreement with local brewery Western Collective to present its winter and summer music series. The two organizations collaborated on the design of The High Peak Hangout, creating a comfortable, welcoming venue for guests 21 years and older.
Who’s ready for a chill night? Starting January 28th, The High Peak Hangout’s Sunset Sessions, presented by Western Collective, will feature DJ sets with upbeat, energetic music ranging from hip-hop classics to energetic dance music.
But wait, there’s more! Full food and beverage service is available at Pioneer Lodge including, La Cumbre Taqueria, a new Mexican style restaurant located on the 3rd floor. You know where to find us!
*The High Peak Hangout is 21+ when La Cumbre Taqueria is open, but open to all ages at all other times the 3rd floor is open.
Escape the Smog, Shred the Slopes
You know it’s winter in the Valley when the dreaded inversion takes over the skies. For weeks, the clouds and smog get trapped in the bowl-shaped area, causing a lingering gray sky. One of our favorite ways to get out of the dreary weather and back into the sunshine is by heading up to Bogus Basin.
As a community that cares immensely about getting outdoors and staying active, Bogus is a wintertime retreat for us all. As the closest ski and snowboarding recreation area to Boise, novice and experienced shredders can take advantage of the many runs on the front and backsides of Shafer Butte.
Winter sports aren’t your thing? No worries. Bogus hosts several activities and events during the winter for those who prefer to stay in the lodge. On the third floor of Pioneer Lodge, guests can enjoy live music and DJ sets from local artists every Saturday.
Additional winter activities at Bogus Basin include:
- Tubing Hill
- Nordic Ski Trails
- Snowshoe Trails
- Fat Tire Bike Tracks
