Long-awaited Coa De Jima restaurant and bar officially has an opening date! Sister company to Boise staple Barbacoa, Coa De Jima is slated to open Thursday, September 23rd, 2021, and will focus on creating upscale authentic Mexican cuisine.
Taking over the 3,000 sq. ft. restaurant, previously known as El Gallo Giro, the space is getting a major facelift. With two separate sides, Coa De Jima will have a dining area and cocktail bar area with a space for weekly DJ's. Staying true to the Barbacoa aesthetic, Coa De Jima will feature a statement art piece from local artist Delia Dante.
"It's the same artist that did Medusa at Barbacoa," said owner Nikolai Castoro.
Based on what Totally Boise has seen at Barbacoa, Coa De Jima will fall nothing short of eclectic, innovative, and inviting.
Coa De Jima Anticipated Food & Drinks
Focusing on high-end authentic Mexican food –– you can expect prime and wagyu grade steak, flown in daily fresh seafood, local catfish, a wood-burning oven for Mexican pizzas, and of course delicious guacamole.
