The historic Boise trolley found its way to its new home at Sockeye Brewing on Sunday May 23rd. Built in 1883, the Boise trolley has come a long way; being modernized and renovated in 1916, 1924, and then retired in 1933. Over the years the trolley has had numerous owners and transformations before Sockeye Brewing owner, Fred Schuerman purchased it.
Prior to Schuerman's ownership, some may remember the railcar being set on fire from an arson when it was known as The Silver Car bar.
Schuerman has been carefully restoring the trolley from the arson and is installing the railcar at Sockeye, where it will be used for private events.
Sockeye Brewing business manager, Janice Skinner talked about the hard work and efforts put into the railcar, and it's perfect completion timing.
"It is something we have been able to work on gradually over the years, and being able to place it in service in conjunction with our silver anniversary is perfect. Look for many more exciting things to come for us in the next few months," said Skinner.
Sockeye Brewing will also be celebrating its 25 years in the Treasure Valley with a fun-filled concert.
