Moving to Boise? Real Estate Broker Josh Cormier Reveals 10 Experiences Locals Love

Last updated March 16, 2021 by Totally Boise

Bringing the highly reputable real estate franchise Weichert, REALTORS®, to the Treasure Valley, Josh Cormier is committed to finding newcomers the perfect home in Boise and surrounding areas. After settling, though, what's next? It can be overwhelming moving to a new city with no guidance on what to experience first. Josh has you covered! As a local real estate broker with years of experience, he’s developed a great awareness of the natural amenities and experiences locals love and is happy to offer these recommendations!

Josh Cormier’s Top 10 Recommended Boise Experiences

1. Bike the Boise River Greenbelt:

You'll find that the Boise River Greenbelt has constant traffic despite the season. The 25-mile pathway along the Boise River takes you on a scenic tour through three cities in the Treasure Valley. It is especially pretty in spring, so tune up your bike or rent a shared scooter and start exploring!

2. Float the Boise River:

A seasonal activity, but one for the whole family! Starting at Barber Park, the roughly two-hour float takes you through gentler rapids and pitstops, ending at Ann Morrison Park.

3. Paddleboard at Quinn's Pond:

No paddleboard? No problem. Josh's favorite paddleboard shop, Alpenglow Mountainsport, rents out paddleboards for however long you'd like (3-hour minimum).

4. Buy Idaho, support local:

Once moving to Boise, you'll find out quickly that there is one thing Boiseans treasure most — locally owned businesses. Saturday Farmers Markets, local craft breweries, and other homegrown shops are located all over the Treasure Valley and are well supported by patrons.

5. View the city from Table Rock:

Josh recommends hiking the public trail to the top of Table Rock for the full experience, but you can also drive to the top to get a breathtaking panoramic view of the city and beyond.

6. Check out local neighborhoods:

Harris Ranch and Historic Hyde Park are some of Josh's (and Totally Boise's) favorite destinations to hang out and enjoy delicious food and drinks. Since each Boise community has a different vibe, he recommends exploring each to find your favorite local hangout spot.

7. Find a Hot Spring:

Idaho is packed with hot springs. You aren't an official Idahoan until you experience how relaxing and beautiful Idaho's hot springs are.

8. Take a day trip to McCall:

A short two-hour drive from Boise, McCall is visited year-round. While there, stop into any of the small town's local food and drink spots and enjoy Payette Lake.

9. Pick up a copy of Totally Boise MAG:

For locals, visitors, and those who have just moved to town, the Totally Boise MAG is published seasonally and is a great resource for learning about local businesses, fun places to visit, and great offers. We love researching new businesses and activities in the Treasure Valley and sharing them with all of you!
