For all our cocktail lovers, this one’s for you!
With summer in its midst and the 4th of July quickly approaching, we’ve concocted a list of our favorite summer cocktails that we think you should try.
1. Cucumber Lime Mojito
Mojito season is here! Add some cucumber and you’ve got quite the refreshing cocktail.
Ingredients
1 cup Rum
2 cups Cucumber Mint Lime Juice
Soda water
Fresh lime juice
1/2 Cucumber sliced in thin rounds
Handful of Mint Leaves
Instructions: Add the rum, mint, and cucumber to a glass or cocktail shaker. Smash it up with a cocktail muddler. Strain the rum into a new glass, add the cucumber lime juice and some more mint. Fill the glass with ice, top with club soda, and garnish with a few slices of cucumber and a sprig of mint.
Recommended Meat from Albertsons: Sausage. Who doesn’t love sausage fresh off the grill? Make a pitcher of cucumber lime mojitos and grill some sausages, because this is a pair you won’t want to miss.
2. Pineapple Jalapeño Margaritas
For those days when you need a lil’ kick of spice!
Ingredients
1.5oz Tequila
0.5oz Triple sec
1oz Pineapple Juice
1/2 Jalapeno sliced thin and de-seeded
Fresh pineapple for garnish
Tajin Chili salt
Instructions: Rim the glass with Tajin chili salt. Cut the core out and slice the jalapeño. Add jalapeño slices to the glass (for extra heat add the jalapeño seeds). Shake up the tequila, pineapple juice, and triple sec. Add to the glass. Garnish with pineapple and jalapeño as desired.
Recommended Meat from Albertsons: Kabobs - chicken, beef, or shrimp we love them all. Give them some extra flavor with a spicy margarita, you won’t regret it!
3. Gin Fiz
An easy cocktail, that looks great and tastes even better!
Ingredients
1.5oz Gin
Grapefruit Juice
Soda water
Fresh Rosemary for garnish
(cucumber addition was recommended)
Instructions: Mix gin and grapefruit juice. Top the drink off with tonic water and stir. Add fresh rosemary for garnish.
Recommended Meat from Albertsons: A burger. Both of these are classics and we are loving this innovative version of a Gin and Tonic.
4. Rosé Sangria
What more could you want? With this drink you can enjoy the best of both worlds- rosé and sangria.
Ingredients
2 cups Rosé
1 cup Svedka Rosé Vodka
0.5 cup St. Germain
Soda water
Frozen Berries
Lemon wheels for garnish
Instructions: Mix rosé, Svedka Vodka, and St. Germain. Add lemon flavored soda water. Throw in a few frozen berries and garnish with lemon wheels.
Recommended Meat from Albertsons: Salmon. Pink fish, meet pink wine.Together these will leave you feeling light, refreshed, and energized.
5. Nectar Apricot Whiskey Sour
An unusual twist on a fruity whiskey cocktail.
Ingredients
1.5oz Whiskey
1oz Nectar Apricot Juice
2oz Sour mix (Lemon juice, Lime juice, Orange juice, & Simple Syrup to taste)
0.5oz Simple Syrup (honey or regular)
Apricot sliver
Instructions: Combine whiskey and nectar apricot juice. Add in sour mix and your choice between simple syrup or honey. Garnish with an apricot sliver.
Recommended Meat from Albertsons: Steak. Steak and whiskey make for a delicious pairing. With this take on a whiskey sour, you’ll be craving a large piece of steak right from the grill.
