Boise Skateparks: Best Spots to Skate in the Treasure Valley

Boise and its surrounding areas boast a vibrant skateboarding scene, offering a variety of parks that cater to skaters of all levels. Whether you're a seasoned pro or just starting out, these local spots provide the perfect terrain to hone your skills and connect with the community.

Rhodes Skate Park (Boise)

Nestled beneath the I-184 connector in downtown Boise, Rhodes Skate Park is a 1.28-acre facility that has become a central hub for the local skate community. In June 2019, it gained national attention by hosting the Road to X Games Park Qualifier, drawing elite skateboarders and BMX riders from across the country.

Tom Erlebach Skatepark (Star)

Opened in April 2017, this park was a dream realized by former City Council Member Tom Erlebach, who aimed to provide a local skate spot for his son and the community. Designed by Grindline Skateparks, it features a variety of obstacles suitable for all skill levels. In 2023, a new shade structure was added, making it a comfortable spot for skaters and spectators alike.

Tully Skatepark (Meridian)

Located within the 17-acre Tully Park, this all-concrete skatepark was built in 2002 by Neptune Industries. It boasts a range of features including a 6-foot halfpipe, ledges, manual pads, pyramids, and various quarter pipes, catering to skaters seeking diverse challenges.

Fort Boise Skatepark (Boise)

As Boise's first skatepark, opened in 1999, Fort Boise Skatepark holds a special place in the city's skateboarding history. This 8,900 sq. ft. cement park was a collaborative effort by local skaters, Quality Concrete, Trout Architects, and the City of Boise. Its mid-size, in-ground transition walls make it a versatile spot for skaters of varying abilities.

Piccadilly Park (Nampa)

Situated in Nampa, Piccadilly Park offers a welcoming environment for skaters. While specific historical details are limited, the park is known for its community-friendly atmosphere and features that accommodate both beginners and experienced skaters.

Each of these parks contributes to the rich tapestry of the Treasure Valley's skate culture. Whether you're looking to practice new tricks, meet fellow skaters, or simply enjoy the ride, these spots offer the perfect backdrop for your skateboarding adventures.
