WORK Provides a New Caliber of Fitness For Idahoans

Last updated February 23, 2023 by Totally Boise

Okay, Boisians… now is the time to WORK on your self-care. Say it with us, “2023 is the year to focus on me.” Wow, it WORK-ed (pun always intended)! Introducing the Treasure Valley’s newest boutique fitness studio, WORK.

Located in Meridian, on the corner of Linder and Chinden, WORK utilizes a spacious 4,000 sq. ft. training room with more equipment than any other studio in the Valley and specializes in Metabolic Strength Training (MST). What is that, you may ask. It is a fancy term that translates to WORKouts that utilize more than one muscle group at a time for a short, intense period. Phew, we can feel the burn just thinking about it!

We get it; walking into a new gym is intimidating; new people, unfamiliar workouts, and the inevitable self-awareness. But WORK is different. Whether you’re beginning, restarting, or continuing your fitness journey, the community at WORK is welcoming and 100% committed to helping you feel your absolute best.

Why WORK?

So why are we so WORK-ed up over WORK? Allow us to explain the mission behind the studio and what you can expect from your new favorite fitness regime.

A blended style of resistance training + HIIT, WORKouts focus on different body parts and intensities each day of the week for a truly comprehensive fitness plan.

Here is why WORKouts are so powerful and successful:

  • The emphasis on daily adjustments in training helps you avoid injury and over-training.
  • WORK updates its training goals each month (strength, endurance, etc.) so their clients are constantly progressing and never plateauing.
  • WORK supplements exercises and workouts that you are doing at home or other gyms.

Let’s face it; if you’re going to be a sweaty mess, you want to feel comfortable among those you’re sharing the dumbbells and treadmills with. Thankfully, WORK is a community-based studio that encourages high-fives, relationship-building, and a positive attitude. You are treated like family when you walk in - the trainers remember your name, cheer you on, and celebrate your victories. So don’t sweat the small stuff… you’ll sweat enough at WORK!

WORK for Kids

The team at WORK knows just how important it is for youth to stay active and move their bodies, so they have created their very own youth program! Kids ages 11 - 14 are invited to join the workout program that is designed to improve muscular strength, overall fitness, and coordination.

The program runs for six weeks, and youth can sign up to attend classes 2-3 days a week. The trainers at WORK have made age-appropriate adjustments to their regular training program, making each class safe and effective for young trainees. The WORK youth program recently finished its first six-week session, and everyone can agree it’s a HIIT!

New Year, New WORKout

We blinked, and it’s 2023, so why not ring in the new year with some dumbbells? When adding “working out, getting in shape, and self-care” to your resolution list for yet another year, consider why you may not have been satisfied in years past. You may have tried other gyms and classes, but it is time to try something new. It’s time to WORK!

The WORK fitness facility has more high-quality equipment than anywhere else in the Treasure Valley, allowing for a greater variety of workouts. Just take a look at SOME of the adaptable, multi-use equipment types you can utilize at WORK:

  • Sleds
  • Barbells
  • Ropes
  • Boxes of different heights
  • Benches
  • Gliders
  • Bands
  • Dumbbells
  • Suspension trainers
  • Pull-up bars
  • Bungies
  • Slam balls

You'll never get bored at WORK (not to be confused with your desk job) because you’ll never do the same workout twice. The trainers’ high energy and positive affirmations throughout the entire WORKout motivate you to get truly the most out of each class. Clients are encouraged to come to class regularly, to work a different body part each day. This type of class schedule increases excitement and engagement level among participants.

Not Your Average Joe

Exercise and fitness should make you look and feel your best, that's why the creators of WORK have curated a sophisticated experience. You will feel athletic, empowered, and cool in the WORK studio.

From the moment you step into the studio, you’ll immediately feel the difference from other gyms. The WORK studio is BIG, allowing for 100 square feet per client - that’s more than 4x the space of most other studios! Just imagine all the WORK that allows for! The team at WORK has designed an attractive space using local Idaho adornments that feel equally beautiful and strong. For example, the statement wall in the training room was constructed using wood from local barns, adding color and warmth to the space.

Aside from the intensely awesome structure of WORK’s fitness plan, what really sets the local family-owned and operated gym apart from the other chain studios in the area is the uplifting culture that fills the space. WORK is welcoming you with open arms if you’re looking for a new fitness home.
