Totally Boise Presents: The Boise Urban Wine Tour

Last updated September 01, 2022 by Mariah Hebbeln

Thanks to Idaho's unique high-desert climate, rich volcanic soil, and close to 206 sunny days per year, our wine industry now competes with Napa Valley. Idaho's first wine grapes were planted in the ground as early as 1860.

160 years later, our award-winning vineyards produce their own versions of Syrah, Merlot, Riesling, Cabernet, and Chardonnay. As your friends and colleagues are coming back from their summer adventures and settling down to fall routines, it's the perfect time to catch up and plan new escapades together on an Urban Wine Tour.

Boise’s Bikeable Wine Tour

Close your eyes and dream with us for a second: You are riding your bike in that perfect fall weather, the heat is gone, but the sun is still warm on your skin, and stop to sip your favorite wines and take in the views of the changing nature colors. Now open your eyes – the dream is real!

These well-loved Idaho wineries are all located along the Boise River greenbelt, meaning you can hop from tasting to tasting with ease from your bike.

Please drink responsibly! It’s still possible to get a DUI on a bike if you’re being unsafe. So take your time, stay hydrated, and enjoy the beautiful tap rooms at these Idaho wineries.
