There are no words to describe what happened at the Boise Towne Square mall on Monday. We hope that you find this blog as a tool to find the resources necessary to support the survivors and families of those who were taken at the mall.

On October 25, 2021, the lives of Jo Acker and Roberto Padilla Argüelles were taken too soon.

There were others at the mall during that time that performed acts of heroism to help others stay safe. We are looking to share those stories and the names of anyone who would like to be recognized.

Resources to help these families were brought to our attention by Inclusive Idaho, the Idaho Indigenous Alliance, and countless others reporting, tweeting, and talking about the event on social media. We thank these local organizations for their efforts in bringing awareness to these resources and hope to continue extending and boosting their work to our community.

Jo Acker was a Treasure Valley local working as a security guard at the time of the shooting. It is reported by those on the scene that the heroic and brave actions taken by Jo Acker could have saved several other lives, and for her bravery, we are incredibly grateful. She was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a true example of an Idahoan.

Roberto Padilla Argüelles was visiting Idaho and was set to return to his home in Mexico in two weeks. He is reported to be visiting the mall that day to purchase gifts for his family. A Gofundme page has been started and can be found at the link below. The page has received almost $30k in donations and is climbing. Click the link below if you would like to contribute.

The other victims are reported to make recoveries and we will monitor the situation to include any additional fundraisers or other resources that come to our attention.
