Popular Source for Sustainable Meat: Van Lith Ranch is Going Brick-and-Mortar

Last updated September 29, 2021 by Dani Hansen

Van Lith Ranch is one of the Treasure Valley's most trusted sources for sustainable beef. This family ran ranch has been raising grass-fed beef along the banks of the Payette since 1964 and selling direct-to-consumer, but recently announced something exciting! You may have seen Van Lith at various farmers markets, or maybe you're a faithful patron of their specialty meat subscription boxes. But, now, Van Lith Ranch is celebrating its plans for a new brick-and-mortar, boutique-style beef store!

This new ranch-to-table method keeps its beef buying process transparent to its consumer. And, by keeping everything in the beef-raising process inside Idaho - from the feed to the workers - their operations help boost the local economy. The Van Lith Ranch will be opening its newest concept, a boutique-style storefront beef shop in Fruitland, Idaho, in Fall of 2021.

"It will be so nice to have my house be a home again," said Bridgette Van Lith.

As many small business owners have experienced, working out of your home has its challenges. The Van Lith family has been playing the same balancing act with its new gourmet meat packages and subscription boxes since its launch in early 2021. Although they have found tremendous success selling at farmers' markets and through online sales from their ranch, transitioning to a storefront will help accommodate more structure for their family and their customers.

"People were asking where they could find us after the end of the seasonal market," said Bridgette, "This will allow us to be accessible to customers year-round."

Equipped with expansive freezer space, the new location will carry meats of all cuts available to purchase at the brick and mortar storefront and accommodate their e-commerce orders with packaging and shipping all within one site. "Customers will be able to pick out their specialty cuts," said Bridgette. The store and shipping center will be located on 200 S Pennsylvania Ave in Fruitland, Idaho - the perfect in-between location for the ranch and the Treasure Valley's most populated areas.

Knowing your ranchers, the locally sourced cattle, and the exact cut of meat you purchase is worth the short drive to Fruitland. With over 70 years of experience in the cattle industry, Van Lith Ranch is the authority in everything quality-beef. They are available to not only sell you a cut of meat but educate you on their sustainability of ranch-to-table methods, recipes, and which cut is best for your next meal or gathering.

It is safe to say that Van Lith is one of the most desirable choices for sustainable meats in the Treasure Valley. If you weren't able to catch them at the farmers' markets around town, you will soon be able to visit them at their new brick-and-mortar location in Fall of 2021, or you can test out one of their subscription boxes by ordering directly on their website!
