Transported in a large Snowcat, or a bus with treads, you or your group are expertly guided into the depths of the Sawtooth backcountry. Once you arrive, you will be guided through the untouched powder by a professional guide. They will help you find and navigate a unique path through the snow. The skiable area has three different bowls, each with its own big open lines, rolling glades, steep trees, and extreme chutes. If the conditions are perfect, the skiing from Peak 2 allows for some of the steepest terrains of any backcountry operation in Idaho.

There’s no need to fret about purchasing backcountry gear before your trip. The team at Soldier Mountain wants to assure that you have an unforgettable cat skiing trip, your purchase of a seat reservation will include a transceiver, backpack, shovel, and probe. These are essential pieces of equipment required by the resort to be on hand. If you have your own gear, you are welcome to bring it along and have it approved by your guide.
