Football season is back, and we’re excited! If you haven’t already heard, Boise State University announced the Albertsons Stadium will now be selling alcohol.
As game days are in full swing, we wanted to ensure you are well prepared to have the absolute best Bronco game day. With the help of former Boise State Broncos, Defensive End turned well-respected local Realtor Tyler Horn; we’re sharing tips for the ultimate game day experience.

Tailgating Before the Boise State Game
Before the game, there is always exceptional tailgating right outside the stadium! If you have friends tailgating, this is a great time to join in on the fun and head over to their reserved space in the parking lot surrounding the Albertsons Stadium. But, if you don’t know anyone and are wearing blue and orange, don’t be scared! You can walk up and down the aisles, and you will be sure to find entertainment in people watching and possibly meet some new friends along the way.
If you want to grab a drink or bite to eat before heading into the game, The End Zone, Suds Tavern, R Bar and The Ram have excellent game day atmospheres and are a close walking distance to the stadium.
Can’t Make it to the Game?
Whether you couldn’t find tickets or just prefer to cheer on the Broncos elsewhere, finding a place to watch the game isn’t hard in the city that bleeds blue and orange. If you’re like Tyler Horn, you’ll host a BBQ and invite Boise State football fans over for a good time.

Tips for the Family
Tyler Horn continues to support the Broncos, and now with his two daughters by his side! As a dad, he’s sharing his tips for bringing the kids to a game.
- Get there early. - Throw on your best blue and orange gear and head to the game early to ensure you find parking and can enjoy pre-game celebrations.
- Dress warm & bring a blanket - It isn’t long before the temperature drops in Boise and fall breezes rush in. Come to the game prepared with warm clothes, hats, gloves and blankets as needed.
- Stay the whole game - Give your kids the chance to experience an entire football game. Trust us; it’s worth it!

Tyler Horn is a huge football fan as a former stand-out Defensive End for Boise State University from 2011-2015. We asked what he’s most excited about this year. Here’s what he had to say:
Top 3 Players You’re excited to watch play?
- Khalil Shakir - Most exciting player on offense and the best player on the field when he is out there!
- Kekaula Kaniho - A kid I have gotten to know and the leader of that defense. He is always around the ball and makes big plays every week.
- JL Skinner - He is a hard-hitting safety. I love the way he plays!
- And, I am always watching the whole defensive line!
Favorite thing about Bronco Gameday?
Hanging out with friends, family, and past teammates. I love seeing everyone at the game!
Which game are you most excited about?
Oklahoma State! It should be a good game with a great opponent. I think Bronco Nation is going to come out for that one.
What are your game day traditions?
Wear my BSU polo to work, listen to bronco game day on the radio, and get to the tailgate as early as possible!
