Duck Donuts in Meridian Teams Up With St. Luke's Oncology Institute For The 'Quack Gives Back Program'

Last updated September 24, 2021 by Totally Boise

Duck Donuts in Meridian uses its 'Quack Gives Back' program to help raise awareness, funds, and coping techniques for local children in chemotherapy. While Duck Donuts can be found all over the U.S., Idaho resident, Kimberlee Guinn brought Duck Donuts to the Treasure Valley to give back to the community and give families a place to gather and create memorable moments.

Duck Donuts and Gabe's Chemo Duck Program's Mission

Partnering with a national nonprofit, Gabe's Chemo Duck Program, Quack Gives Back is an educational and emotional support program for children undergoing chemotherapy. This will be Duck Donut's first year working within the Treasure Valley and aims to help as many children as possible through their customized stuffed ducks. The stuffed ducks are used as an educational and emotional animal that allows children to comprehend what they are going through, with a comfort toy by their side.

About Meridian's Duck Donuts

Discovering Duck Donuts while visiting Kansas, Kimberlee was an instant fan of the company.

"Once I discovered Duck Donuts, I found myself craving them and I had never found that before with other donuts," said Kimberlee.

Up until that point, Kimberlee didn't even consider herself a "donut lover." After moving away from her hometown in Idaho for some time, Kimberlee and her family not only made the decision to move back to the City of Trees, but they decided to bring something the Treasure Valley didn't have Duck Donuts!

Located on Eagle Road, Duck Donuts aren't your typical donuts, and it isn't your typical donut shop story of how it came to fruition. Originating in Duck, North Carolina, the idea of Duck Donuts came to be by Founder Russel A. DiGillio while vacationing. Wanting to spread the joy that comes with being on vacation.
