Sockeye Brewing's Iconic New Location and 25th Anniversary Concert

Last updated June 25, 2021 by Mariah Hebbeln

Sockeye Brewing is a Boise institution. Brewing up some of Idaho’s most popular beer since 1996, the taphouse and eatery have been making a few headlines recently.

For those of you who have been around since Sockeye Brewing opened, it was sad to see their first location on Cole road close its doors forever in 2019. This spot was where they honed their brewing craft, created effortlessly delicious pub food, and hosted free live music for Boise to enjoy.

Before their Cole location locked up, their second taphouse and pub was opened in 2002 at 12542 W. Fairview Ave. Now their flagship store, they brew and can the beer you sip in-person or shop from the shelves of your local grocery store.

This Fairview Sockeye location made news just a few weeks ago when they acquired and gave a final resting place to the iconic Silver Car Bar.

Looking to expand their already epic presence in Boise, the Sockeye team announced on June 23rd that they will be opening their new second location in the former 36th Street Garden Center & Bistro. In May of 2020, the Boise business announced its permanent closure after it faced unprecedented effects of the COVID-19 Global Pandemic. Now, just over a year and one month after that announcement, Sockeye is excited to share its grand plan for the next Sockeye location serving the community in the Spring of 2022.

With its 12,000 square feet of space, Janice Skinner, the Business Manager of Sockeye Brewing shared, “Since we shut our location at Cole and Ustick, we have been on a deliberate search for a site that would make a statement and reflect the next chapter of Sockeye Brewing. We are thrilled to have found a spot that's not only beautiful but will be central to Boise's foothills and well within reach of downtown and other portions of the Treasure Valley."

You can expect to enjoy their entire line of beer to be served on one of the 24 different taps, as well as a full-service restaurant dishing out their pub-food creations. You can dine inside or outside, and there will be space for event rentals available as well.

Sockeye Brewing is Turning 25!

As one of Idaho’s largest brewers of craft beer, growing their production into a 40-bbl brewhouse, each bbl (barrel) holding 30 gallons each, that serve more than 10,000 bbl’s of beer annually, it’s a truly deserved accomplishment of a team effort for Sockeye to celebrate 25 years of operation. This Friday, June 25th, the party is set to pop off!

To make this silver anniversary one helluva party, the brewery has organized a night of epic music, beer (of course), and food trucks. The infamous all-female AC/DC tribute band, Hell’s Bells will be rocking their hearts out for the event. Endorsed by Agnus Young himself, Sockeye knew this ferocious group was the headliner to get for the event. Leading up to the world-renown band, you can savor the sweet sound of Still Dangerous, a Thin Lizzy tribute band, and The Mongoloids, a Devo speed-metal tribute band.

With the Treasure Valley eager to get out and take in live music again, secure your discounted tickets before they’re gone! Doors open

Keeping the party going, head over to Sockeye Brewing on Fairview to drink fresh beer, eat good food, and watch the live performances of The Bourbon Dogs and High Pine Whiskey Yell.
