Live music is back, and we’re ready to shout it from the rooftops! There’s nothing better than cooling down after a warm sunny day in the evening to find a band playing live music around the Treasure Valley. We want to make sure you’re all taking in the opportunity to listen to the sweet sounds of our local musicians, which is why we’re here to share nine venues offering live music performances weekly.
1. Boise Spectrum
Back with their annual Thursday Thunder Concert Series, the Boise Spectrum hosts free live music every Thursday during the summer. Along with live entertainment, the businesses located in the Edwards 21 Spectrum Center will offer Thursday specials—raffle drawings will be held for movie theater tickets, gift cards, and many more fun events. The Boise Spectrum Center celebrates Boise’s roots and proud heritage with courtyard features, a play area, and local eateries.

2. Lost Grove Brewing
Lost Grove Brewing keeps its spacious outdoor patio open year-round. With connections to the musicians in Boise, Lost Grove Brewing hosts events on multiple days of the week. Wednesdays, the Hilfork Noir duo has residency, and on Friday and Saturday, you can find the voice of a new musician every week.

3. KIN
Through the summer, every Sunday and Tuesday, KIN puts on piKINics out on the grassy hillside “amphitheater.” The outdoor theater was previously home to the Idaho Shakespeare Festival over 40 years ago. Performances feature local and touring artists alongside a three-course picnic-style meal. As the show goes on, drinks and food can be ordered from the delicious kitchen at KIN.

4. Firenza Pizza
The Boise Revival Project is on a mission to allow our shared love for music, downtown Boise, and our restaurateurs to bring the community together once again. Every Thursday, in partnership with Boise Revival Project, Firenza Pizza invites people of all ages to enjoy delicious pizza and watch Boise musicians.

5. Neurolux
On weekend nights, downtown Boise’s Neurolux hosts local and national artists in a more low-key setting. With cool vibes and an intimate venue, the Neurolux is a Boise staple for expanding your horizons to new bands to follow. Tickets for concerts at Neurolux are sold online and at the door.

6. Sandbar Patio and Grill
Located along the Boise River and a part of Riverside Hotel, the Sandbar has one of the best locations for patio seating with a view. You can find live music at the Sandbar stage every evening and all day Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Sit back, relax, and enjoy views of the surrounding scenery, the flowing Boise river, and a performance from local talent.

7. Highland Hollow
You can find live music every Wednesday on the outdoor patio of Highland Hollow. Highland Hollow is the oldest microbrewery in Boise known for bringing the community together for a worthy cause to support local. Hike the Boise foothills, then stop by Highland Hollow on your way home for a cold beverage and a show.

8. Neighborhood Concert Series
The Morrison Center and Lost Grove Brewing have partnered to present the Neighborhood concert Series to support local performing arts and celebrate Boise neighborhoods. The Neighborhood Concert Series will feature different local musicians/bands every other Wednesday in surrounding neighborhood parks. Admission is free and musicians, food trucks, and vendors will be around with Lost Grove Brewing serving beer, wine and cider.

9. JUMP Jam & Jive Summer Concert Series
Taking to the JUMP yard, local musicians are invited to play on the JUMP stage in downtown Boise. While bands play in the outdoor amphitheater, the show will also be streamed at the large outdoor JUMPtron screen, providing extra and ample viewing areas. Now running through September 14th, enjoy live music and local eats in the center of downtown Boise.

The Boise entertainment scene is frequently buzzing with music, shows, art, and culture. As Boise continues to grow as a rising city, more well-known artists stop through on their way to the coast. Musicians pitstop year after year to put on amazing shows for the people of Boise. From small-scale to large scale, there are various places to check out the hopping music scene. If you’re looking to catch a show that will rock the house, large concerts are typically reserved for Boise’s bigger venus.
