Recycle and Reuse During City of Meridian's Trash or Treasure Event

Last updated April 26, 2021 by Totally Boise

The average American produces around 2,072 pounds of trash per year — that's almost the weight of a compact car. In an effort to reduce waste, The City of Meridian and Republic Services will host its Trash or Treasure event May 1-2nd. The event is an alternative to throwing away salvageable items and encouraging residents to recycle and reuse unwanted items.

Sign Up for Meridian's Trash or Treasure

It's simple, you sign up online and enter your location, you then place any unwanted items that no longer spark joy and place them on the curb. This is the best time to get rid of any of those bulky items that have been lingering in the garage for too long — old bookshelves, end tables, and appliances.

Over a hundred Meridian residents so far are participating — leaving you to find the perfect addition to your home. If you've been tempted to try refurbishing, this is your perfect opportunity to find an item and give it a whole new life!

Sign up as a location by April 30th to participate in Trash or Treasure:
