The Talk of the Town: Big Idaho Potato Hotel

Last updated April 26, 2019 by Totally Boise

Potatoes are what Idaho seems to be known for, and now that association is being taken to the next level. The Big Idaho Potato Hotel has officially opened and you can book your night stay through Airbnb.

The potato is approximately 6 tons and was created by the Idaho Potato Commission. Before becoming a rental property, it toured the US for six years. Now, it sits in southern Idaho about 30 minutes from Downtown Boise.

Kristie Wolfe is the designer and owner of the property and is known for her one-of-a-kind small homes. The Potato Hotel is the fourth of her collection, and we have a feeling that she isn’t going to just stop at this big ol’ spud.

So for those of you looking for a unique getaway, the potato sleeps two and is equipped with a small kitchenette and living space. The bathroom is located separate from the potato and is also something quite special. It features a large tub, fireplace, shower, and is decorated beautifully. The rental is $200 a night, plus $47 in service fees, making the total $247.
