The Boise Community Continues to Band Together

Since the start of this pandemic, there have been many unknowns or uncertainties. Mental health and meals for children have been two impactful concerns, since the start. If you, or if someone you know may be suffering the Boise community is here to help you.

Idaho Youth Ranch has always been known to lend a helping hand and their services are especially important during a time of need. This awesome organization is offering mental health services during the pandemic. If this is something you, friends, or loved ones may be interested don’t hesitate to reach out! Their services are provided through video chats or phone calls. It is no doubt this time has caused stress, trauma, or exhaustion, remember to make your health a priority.

Many young kids and teens rely on school providing their food for the day. With schools closing this has become a major concern in the community. If you or someone you know may be at risk, these local places are continuing to offer food to students in need:

Boise State University

At BSU, the food pantry will remain open in the Dean of Students’ office. This service offers bags full of groceries you might need.

Kuna School District

The Kuna school district is offering a major service to those in need. This district is allowing any child enrolled in the Kuna district, Ross Elementary or Reed Elementary. Kids 18 or younger may pick up Grab-and-Go meals from 11AM to 12PM, Monday through Friday.

Nampa School District

The Nampa school district is offering hygiene meal kits for families who may go without school for a while. If this is something your family or a family you may know may benefit from, contact these local schools:

Right now, it’s even more important for us to work together and overcome this battle. The Boise community has always stepped up to help each other, and we continue to be amazed by the people in our community who are working extra hard to support one another. If you have the time and would like to show your support, these services are always looking for volunteers.
