Local Community of Eagle Mom’s Rising Up to Make A Difference

Last updated December 09, 2020 by Tessa Bishop

In 2018, Randi Owsley, a transplant to the area created Eagle Moms as a way to find community and friendship in her new neighborhood. After about 2 years, this online group has turned into almost 1,500 moms who utilize the group as a support system, stress relief, and as a way to give back to the community.

Eagle Moms over the years have collaboratively worked on service projects. Last Christmas, the group came together to raise money to pay 6 months of utility bills for another local mom, as well as purchase Christmas gifts for the family. This summer, the group of Eagle Moms organized a drive for the Idaho Anti-Trafficking Coalition, and this month they’re working on a Turkey Drive.

Though Eagle Moms started as a virtual group, it’s much more than that. The ladies of this group work to spread goodness throughout the community, oftentimes focusing on the needs surrounding the local community at that time.

Their most recent service project is Elves for the Elderly. Yearly, Elves for the Elderly is organized by the City of Eagle. Elves for the Elderly serves 30 residents of Eagle assisted living homes by using donations to give a holiday gift to uplift the spirits of these elderly community members during the holidays.

The Eagle Moms group was able to donate 34 large care packages including a variety of necessities and fun gifts, anything from gift cards to coffee mugs to beauty items and everything in between. Along with an abundance of gifts included, each box included a handmade Christmas card and artwork from the children of these moms.

“I was in awe of the response from our group, they gave with their whole hearts and we went above and beyond what I ever expected.” - Jalene, Moderator of Eagle Moms

We’re at a time when uplifting stories truly make us feel good and bring a brighter energy to our days. After the year we’ve been through, it’s amazing to see groups in the community rise up to give back to the people in our community who need it most. We always love hearing stories that bring an uplifting message and tone to the Treasure Valley.

Do you know a group, family, or business that has gone above and beyond to give back? We’d love to share their story. Email us at and tell us your story.
