Delta Airlines is adding a flight to its nonstop list. Boise’s nonstop flight to Atlanta, operated on a Boeing 737-800, will take effect on November 20, 2020.
The new flight addition will shave travel time by at least 1 ½ hours and will be Delta’s furthest flight to the east coast. Delta currently flies direct to Los Angeles, Minneapolis, Salt Lake City, and Seattle.
According to USA TODAY, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International is the world’s busiest airport; the nonstop flight from Boise to Atlanta allows for an excellent gateway to the east coast and connectivity for future international travel.
“Launching this service through our largest hub in Atlanta means customers are only one stop away from the people and places they want to see most,” said Scott Santoro, Delta’s Vice President – Sales.
While protocols are still in place, due to COVID-19, Delta strives to make changes to better travelers’ wants and needs.
“With our Delta CareStandard, they can rest assured that their health and safety, as well as the health and safety of our employees, remains our top priority, said Santoro.”
Delta has over 100 protective measures that provide a safe travel experience for customers and employees. Some of those measures include facemask requirements, frequently changing high-grade air filters, and blocking middle seats for travelers.
As Boise continues to grow, adding a direct flight to one of the busiest cities makes sense.
“This is a game-changer for Boise’s business community as well as our convention and visitor industry,” – Boise’s Chamber’s President and CEO Bill Connors.
