A long time summer tradition continues to hold on at the Idaho Botanical Garden, known as the Great Garden Escape concert series. Working in partnership with Duck Club Presents and Treefort Music Fest, the concert series has a great lineup of local artists, bands, and musicians.
Every Thursday, Idaho Botanical Garden puts on the Great Garden Escape to invite friends, family and the community to enjoy the sweet sounds of live music and views of the beautiful garden.
While typically the Great Garden Escape has vendors for food and drinks, this year you have the ability to bring the picnic with you! So head to the store, grab your favorite snacks and drinks, and bring them to make the experience that much better. Seating is all throughout the garden grounds, so be sure to bring lawn chairs or blankets to sit on while the concert continues. And remember what you pack in, should be brought out or thrown away as you leave.
The concerts are held in the Meditation Garden, but your ticket purchase includes the ability to roam around the garden and explore the beauty that surrounds the space. As the Meditation Garden fills up, attendees are able to spread out throughout the various garden spaces.
There are only a few weeks left of this awesome event, take a listen to the artists coming:
- Thursday, August 13 - Bread & Circus
- Thursday, August 20 - Mestizo Beat
- Thursday, August 27 - Boise Straight Ahead Jazz
- Thursday, September 3 - Afrosonics
You can listen to the upcoming artists on the Idaho Botanical Garden Spotify Playlist:
A few Totally Boise tips:
- Tickets can be purchased online or in person, however, it’s recommended that you purchase your tickets in advance before the concert sells out!
- Arrive early if you want a view of the stage
- Listen prior on Spotify to get excited about who you’re going to be watching
- The more snacks you bring, the merrier!
This event is the perfect opportunity to get out, enjoy the sounds of live music, the beauty of the garden, and surround yourself with friends all while socially distancing. Seating is first come first serve, giving you the opportunity to spread out your blanket and ensure a safe distance between your group and the next. While face masks aren’t required when you’re sitting at your spot, when not seated you’ll be required to wear them.
This is only one of the many events the Idaho Botanical Garden continues to put on for the public. The Idaho Botanical Garden has been a wonderful space hosting events with local businesses going through tough times as COVID continues to make a difference in our day-to-day lives. Be sure to follow their event calendar to find upcoming events that will be the perfect experience to end your summer with!
