Technology is embedded in every part of our daily routines — social media, internet, work, etc. As technology continues to advance at a rapid rate, understanding and adapting to computer science is crucial for children. iCode Boise is an excellent opportunity for students to further their technological understanding in a fun and interactive environment.
With a background in learning theory and an emphasis in organizational performance, Stephania Moore saw an opportunity to bring iCode to Boise. Stephania and Alison Lark, the director of iCode Boise, met while serving on the Society of Women Engineering Scholarship panel. Alison had a long history of working in STEAM education and has a passion for creating accessible programs and opportunities within her community. Although their skill sets vary, they both have a deep understanding of the value of educating children on the language of coding. And, as the leader in onsite computer science education, iCode aligned with Stephania and Alison’s common goals of educating youth. They strive to provide a quality computer science education by creating an experience that kids actually love!
Their STEAM program encourages critical thinking in building soft skills, creative thinking, and academic growth for grades K-12.
Boise After School & Summer Programs
Many parents know the struggle of getting their children to focus on learning after the school day or year is over, but at iCode, they make education fun. Many kids turn to computer games to decompress during school breaks - why not help focus their pastime on productivity and learning? With discovery and science in mind, iCode has prepared a STEAM curriculum that encourages students of all ages to be creative and grow their technical and soft skills.
The after school programs include curriculum opportunities with interactive coding, robotics, game design, and a deep dive into computer science. Through the “Belt Program,” students are able to focus on growing their individual skills in both computer science and leadership. There are “belts” to track individual improvement, starting with the foundation of knowledge needed to grow students’ understanding of basic computing skills. As students become more proficient, iCode guides students through critical thinking and enrichment activities. The final belts are all about entrepreneurship and the confidence to lead projects collaboratively.
iCode Belt Program
For those students who could benefit from an immersive and creative environment during school breaks, iCode has crafted technology and design camps for future artists and engineers. Camps keep students busy and engaged with their Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM schedule, along with the convenience of early drop-off and late pick-up options. From Design Camp to Young Coders Camps, iCode has the fit that’s right for your child’s interests and experience. By participating in camps, students of all ages will grow their technical and social skills while boosting their confidence!

“We provide the tools to prepare them for success.” - Stephania Moore, Owner of iCode
Stephania, the owner of iCode, believes these students are the future creators and leaders. She and Alison feel it is important to grow their STEM skills in a supportive environment. The well-tailored programs inspire a lifelong interest in computer science.
The staff at iCode Boise come from diverse backgrounds that compliment different types of learners and their interests. iCode works with each child to identify their aspirations, giving them the confidence to grow, create, and discover emerging technologies for themselves. Beyond computer science, their program promotes mentorship and leadership.
iCode allows students to make new friendships while continuing to exercise their brain after school is out—preparing students with critical life skills that go beyond the classroom. This first-hand experience is an opportunity worth exploring!
