Some exciting news in light of everything going on, the Idaho Humane Society just launched their online portal for any found stray pets on their website! The public portal is updated as soon as pets are brought into the shelter from good Samaritans and Humane Officers.
This is good news for the community and the Idaho Humane Society. Finding your pet might now be a little bit easier. We recommend continually checking the website if there’s a potential your pup or cat might be held at the shelter.
If you find your pet on the site, it is best to visit the Humane Society in person as soon as possible as the stray holding period is 5 days for dogs and 3 days for cats. If you find your pet on the portal, be sure to check online for the documents needed to show proof of ownership.
Animal redemptions are located at 4775 Dorman St. in Boise, open 7 days a week.
The Idaho Humane Society is continuing to care for the animals that find their way to the shelter. Donations are always appreciated, especially now. The Humane Society is currently accepting pet food and treats, you can find a comprehensive wish list for both cats and dogs here:

The Idaho Humane Society is also encouraging the public to check in with members of the community who may be living alone with pets or those in a vulnerable position due to the coronavirus. Offering emergency housing to those who may need to separate from their pet can be a lifesaver for many.
