The new year is bringing even more growth to Boise, something we’re most excited about! Being one of the fastest-growing cities in the U.S., Boise is continuing to expand with a new sports team, new businesses, and changes within our local government. We love seeing our beautiful city boom, here’s a couple of things that we’re looking forward to in this new year!

With games starting in February and running throughout the entire spring season, we’re sure you’ll find time to attend a game or two.

If you’ve been driving down Eagle Rd right next to the I-84, chances are you’ve seen slow developments being made. We’ve known for a while now that a TopGolf-like facility is planning to take up space of what was previously recognized as the Farmstead. The facility will be a part of Eagle-View Landing, which will sit on 52-acres along Eagle Road. Although we still don’t know whether this will be TopGolf or a similar facility, either way, we’re excited for an addition to Boise’s entertainment scene!

Originating in 2012, Treefort has since grown into a diverse festival that now incorporates aspects of music, food, beer, comedy, stories, tech, film, and yoga. Treefort was even named City of Boise’s Cultural Ambassador for being an event that represents Boise in the most positive light. Over the past 8 years, Treefort has continually expanded the event inviting bigger artists and enhancing the overall experience. We’re excited to experience the growth of this years festival, hosted over March 25-29.
Costco coming to Meridian
We’re sure some of you have heard and are eagerly awaiting the arrival of Costco at Ten Mile and Chinden. After months of petitions, Costco got approved and is expected to open this year! Along with Costco’s opening, WinCo hopes to join a similar location as a part of the incoming Linder Village in the fall. The Linder Village has also announced it will be home to a new Meridian Public Library!

In December, McLean won the elections by 65% and is recognized as the first woman elected as Boise’s mayor. On January 7, McLean will be sworn in to the office. McLean plans to work on issues including affordable housing and regional transit, both talking points throughout her campaign trail.
