In mid-September, I met Scott Slater, owner of Spitfire Tacos + Tequila. In confidence, he shared the possibility of bringing a high-end restaurant to Eagle’s historic bank building. His vision was second to none.
Scott struck me as genuine, ambitious, and down-to-earth. He’s helping build our community through unique food and memorable places to gather.
Now, that vision has a name:
The Eagle Bank Club.
Scott and his Apex Brand Collection partner, Todd Ketlinski, plan to transform the daVinci’s location at 190 E. State St. into an elevated bar and restaurant, with an opening planned for May 2027. The original bank vault will remain.
Expect giant chicken parmesan, Idaho finger steaks, grilled artichokes, tableside chicken pot pie, and a martini-forward cocktail program. Meanwhile, daVinci’s plans to relocate after leaving its current space December 31, 2026.
Downtown Eagle is looking like our own Hallmark movie scene. Within a quarter-mile to half-mile stretch of State Street, you’ll find healthy restaurants, fun bars, wine shops with balcony seating, boutique stores, great food, and friendly people. Eagle Bank Club will add another chapter to that character.
For me, this is also a full-circle moment.
The first WebMarkets office was right here on State Street. We shared a wall with the building that will become Eagle Bank Club, and I parked behind it for two years.
It’s also where I founded Totally Boise.
We eventually outgrew that office and moved to Boise, but this stretch of downtown Eagle will always have a special place in my heart.
I’m grateful Scott shared his vision with me. I look forward to returning, reliving the nostalgia, supporting this establishment, and investing in Eagle’s future.
The future of Eagle is bright.
