Popular downtown Boise restaurant, Wild Root Café, just got even more delicious by rolling out a dinner menu and adding a full bar to their menu.
Dan Watts and Samantha Foster, new owners of Wild Root Café as of September 1st, 2020, were also fortunate enough to acquire Saint Lawrence Gridiron earlier in 2020. Continuing the theme of Wild Root Café, Watts and Foster looked to existing chef, Tyson Mann, and new Bar Manager, Morgan Doughty, in helping the restaurant expand to dinner with exclusive cocktails and noteworthy menu creations.
Exclusive Boise Craft Cocktails
Look no further for a bar with a killer cocktail list –– Wild Root Café has it. The new bar program began this fall with a vision to produce innovative drinks. Doughty created a cocktail menu using fresh herbs, fruits, and vegetables –– staying true to the essence of Wild Root Café.
Here are Totally Boise’s Favorite Drinks at Wild Root:
Peppers Mad Beets
I don’t know if I can ever drink a regular cocktail again. The vodka infused cocktail made with fresh beet juice, ginger syrup and lime was so refreshing I had to order two.
The Queen Bee
Gin lovers, this cocktail is for you. Delicately crafted with Empress 1908 Gin and chamomile honey syrup, this cocktail has floral notes that easily make it a favorite.
Square One Organic Spirits
This one isn’t a cocktail per se, but is the organic spirit line from Square One Organic Spirits. These organic spirits are the perfect ingredient to any craft cocktail. Totally Boise had the chance to try the Bergamot and Botanical –– and oh my, they were delicious.
Dinner Menu
If I could put the whole menu on here, I would. Wild Root Café’s dinner menu blew my mind. From their vegan to meat based offerings, they had a dish for everyone to thoroughly enjoy. Mann has taken his experience from cooking all over the world and brought delicious new seafood offerings and more to Wild Root Café’s amazing menu.
Lobster Roll
This was the best lobster I have had in the Treasure Valley, hands down. Finding lobster that is perfectly cooked can be a challenge, look no further.
Croquetta
The garlic aioli on this dish was so delicious, we couldn’t stop eating!
Mushroom Risotto
I felt duped –– but in a good way, when I found out this meal was completely vegan. The risotto was so creamy that I forgot I was eating a vegan dish and the fresh mushrooms were seasoned to perfection.
Short Rib
The short rib was heavenly, the meat literally slid off the bone. While Wild Root is known for its vegan and vegetarian options, it doesn’t mean they don't know how to cook a mean short rib.
Dinner at Wild Root Café is served Fridays and Saturdays from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. with additional dinner nights expected to be added in early Spring 2021.
