The Gnarliest Toyota Big-Air Rail Jam in Boise

Attention all snowboarders, snow tubers, and skiers -- the Toyota Big Air Rail Jam is coming to Capitol Park on the last day of the year! Inland Northwest Toyota Dealers has made it possible for a snowpark to be built just in time for the Potato Drop.

Last Year's Ramp

That means that on December 31st, Boise will get a taste of tuber heaven. The park, sanctioned by the United States of America Snowboard and Freeski Association, will include a runway built with high-speed crank pulleys, a big-air launch, transitions, and rails.

This Year's Ramp Schematics

Gateway Parks Eagle is also building a Tuber Luge to complete the park. It will be open to the public and can be accessed all day. Until the New Year’s Eve gets here, you can check out Gateway Parks Eagle, located inside Eagle Island State Park, which features world-class terrain and tubing hills. While you don’t need reservations to experience the Tuber Luge on New Year’s Eve, you can make reservations to visit Gateway Parks Eagle in two-hour time slots.

The event includes a USASA-certified pre-qualifier, including a Rail Jam competition and a Big Air competition. The prizes for the Big Air Rail Jam include $1500 in cash prizes, and there will also be a swag toss and raffle. Those wishing to participate in the USASA pre-qualifier competition can register at the USASA website.

The Ramp seems a lot bigger up close!

Competition Schedule

  • 4 PM: Open Access
  • 5 PM: Rail Jam
  • 6 PM: Big Air

Both the Big-Air Rail Jam and Gateway Parks Eagle were designed by world-renown snow park designer and first-ever US snowboard champion Ryan Neptune. Neptune uses his parks to share his passion for snow with his community.

All the Hard Work put into the Making of the Ramp

Whether you are competing in the Big Air Rail Jam or watching it, dress warm and come play on the Tuber Luge on December 31st. Afterwards celebrate the New Year with your family and friends at the Idaho Potato Drop!
