5 Watersport Adventures Near Boise Made Even Better With Alpenglow Mountainsport

Warm weather is right around the corner, and we couldn't be more excited. Boise's premiere paddlesports shop, Alpenglow Mountainsport, is encouraging outdoor enthusiasts to start planning their spring and summer activities before recreation shops sell out. They're anticipating yet another busy season. If you're new to paddlesports and are wondering how to start and where to go, Totally Boise recommends these five watersport adventures made even better with Alpenglow gear!

1. Paddleboard Redfish Lake

Located in the Sawtooth National Recreation Area just south of Stanley, Redfish Lake is five miles long, leaving room for a variety of water activities like paddleboarding!

Distance from Boise: 2 hours

2. Fish Lucky Peak

A Boise River reservoir, Lucky Peak is over four miles and is a local favorite in the spring and summer. Grab a kayak from Alpenglow and head out in the early hours to find the perfect fishing spot. Enjoy catching your limit of Kokanee, Rainbow Trout, and Smallmouth Bass.

3. Whitewater raft the Payette River

The Payette River is known as one of America's first wild and scenic rivers. At 82.7 miles long, there are various stage rapids for you and your friends or family to tackle.

4. Float the Boise River

Floating leisurely down the Boise River at midday is on everyone's summer bucket list. Starting at Barber Park, you'll travel through Boise while ending at Ann Morrison. This float takes about 2 hours.

5. Kayak Cascade Lake & Explore

Take a kayak out to explore Cascade Lake. A short drive from Boise, Cascade Lake has tons of beaches to pull ashore and explore.
