UPDATED! Where to Find COVID-19 Testing in the Treasure Valley

Updated as of 6/25/2020

Ada County just took a major step back due to COVID-19. Due to recent COVID-19 spikes, Boise has recently moved back into stage 3 of the Idaho Rebounds Plan. This may leave people feeling anxious again, due to the unknown.

According to Central District Health, we have seen a 500% increase in cases in Ada County alone, which may lead more people to want/need to get tested.

But where do you get tested? The questions are unlimited when it comes to the testing process for COVID-19 because every testing location seems to be completely different.

Totally Boise has compiled a list of different testing sites based on our own experiences.

American Family Care Urgent Care:

The American Family Care Urgent Care in Garden City is offering COVID-19 & Antibody testing free under the Families First Coronavirus Act. Walk-in and drive-up testing available. Be sure to bring a Photo ID/divers license, social security number/card, and insurance card.

Project Baseline:

Project Baseline is hosted by the Rite Aid pharmacy on Eagle Road. The test is run by appointment only with a low cost of $0. The patient is required to facilitate their own nasal swab, although guided by a pharmacist through the drive-thru. If you have severe symptoms, this location suggests you call a doctor.

Primary Health:

Primary Health has a lot of factors that go into their testing for COVID-19. It is all insurance-based and whether or not you test back positive symptomatic or asymptomatic.

Primary Health does a temperature and breathing check prior to taking the test. The patient is in charge of taking the nostril swab test with guided instructions.

Crush the Curve:

Crush the curve gives three options for COVID-19 testing, catering to your testing needs and availability. The Self Administered test is $30 with instructions on how to test at home. The CTCI Administered option is $50 and is available by appointment only at a testing facility. The tests will be conducted by a staff member. Lastly, the On-Site option is great for local businesses to get themselves and their staff tested for COVID-19, however the price varies depending on staff size, in-house-medical professionals and insurance.

Appointment Required: Yes

Hours: Varies

Website: Crush the Curve

Overall, it is important to know that every testing facility is run completely differently. This may be confusing, so depending on symptoms you should find a facility that best fits your needs. All facilities will have a vague time frame for results, however with the spike of cases in Ada County, expect longer delays in results as well as making appointments.

While the curve is slowly flattening, we all are waiting patiently for the things to go back to normal. We still want to make sure we are being safe and sanitary. Keeping everyone informed on COVID-19 and what is happening around Boise is very important to us here at Totally Boise. We put together a list of places that are offering COVID-19 drive-up testing near Boise, Meridian, and Nampa.
