Boise’s Holiday Events Guide

With Thanksgiving and Christmas around the corner the Boise community is gearing up for the Holiday festivities. The Totally Boise crew pulled together some of our favorite Boise traditions to help you, your friends, and family get into the holiday spirit! Here are a handful of events you definitely need to add into your holiday events calendar.

Boise Holiday Parade

Where: Starts on Jefferson & 10th
When: November 19 @ 9:45am

The Boise Holiday Parade is a sure way to kick off the holiday season! It is a yearly event that welcomes Santa Claus to the treasure valley. Along with St. Nick, you can expect marching bands, music, and a fun new holiday theme. So bundle up and head to the Boise Holiday Parade November 19 at 9:45am. The parade starts on Jefferson and 10th street. Follow this link for a map of the parade route.

Festival of Trees

Where: Boise Centre
When: November 21-27

The Festival of Trees is many Boise residents favorite holiday tradition since 1984. If you are looking for a place that the entire family can enjoy this event is for you. During the week of Thanksgiving, the Boise Centre transforms into a magical place filled with hundreds of extravagantly decorated christmas trees, wreaths, and other holiday decor. You will also be able to attend the Black Tie Gala, Festival Fashion Show, and the North Pole Village. Proceeds of this event will support the expansion of the Saint Alphonsus cardiac exercise rehabilitation program. For more information on this event visit their website.

Idaho Food Bank - Empty Bowls

Where: Boise Centre on The Grove Plaza
When: November 24th @ 10am-1pm

Empty Bowls is an awesome way to give back to the community of Boise and the rest of Idaho. Each year, Idaho Food Bank collects handcrafted and hand-painted bowls from professional and amateur artisans, students, and studios. At the event, you are able to purchase one of the 3,000 hand-crafted bowls and then enjoy a hot bowl of soup donated by a delicious local restaurant. The proceeds will help provide food to those who really need it this winter.

Winter Garden aGlow

Where: Idaho Botanical Garden
When: November 23 - January 1st

Winter Garden aGlow is one of the most beloved holiday traditions in Boise, Idaho. It is a chance for you, your friends, and family to step inside a magical winter wonderland. Enjoy 30,000 lights displayed all around the garden to truly light up the winter nights. There will be special visits from Santa Claus himself on selected nights as well as The Holiday express, a G-Scale model train, and visits from local choirs. What a perfect setting to listen to the choir sing, “Walkin’ in a Winter Wonderland!” So, bundle up and get into the holiday spirit at Winter Garden aGlow!
