Relay For Life Boise

June 23, 2018 from 3p.m. to 11p.m.

Relay For Life is the American Cancer Society’s biggest fundraiser. Friends, families, coworkers, and strangers come together to celebrate cancer survivors, remember those who have lost their battle, and fight back against the disease. The cancer survivors in attendance kick off the event by taking the first lap in their purple shirts. Their caregivers join for a lap, and then all participants start their trek around the track for the next 8 hours.

Relay For Life was started by Dr. Gordon “Gordy” Klatt who walked and ran for 24 hours in 1985. With this, people gathered around to watch him, as well as made donations to participate with him. He ran more than 83.6 miles and raised $27,000.

The Relay For Life of Boise will be June 23 from 3p.m.-11p.m. at Boise High School. To learn more about the event and to join or start a team, visit the Relay For Life Website.
